In anticipation of the February 10th release of JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND New Line Cinema and Warner Bros. will be touring one-of-a-kind props from the set of the film throughout the country at select locations. The props being toured will include several “Giant Fruits and Leaves” that were used throughout the jungle scenes in the film, the “Hank Dive Tank and Hank Dive Helmet” that was used in the underwater scenes, and the “Mysterious Island Map and Book” that were the key to cracking the code that grants access to the Mysterious Island.
Prop Tour cities include El Paso, TX, Odessa, TX, Miami, FL , Chicago IL, San Diego, CA, Fresno, CA.
The “Hank Dive Tank and Hank Dive Helmet” were used by Hank (Dwayne Johnson) on the set of JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND in the underwater scene while battling the Giant Electric Eel atop the Nautilus Submarine. These one-of-a-kind props will be on display at the Historic Navy Pier IMAX in Chicago, IL from February 6th - February 8th . Come out to the Navy Pier and be part of the JOURNEY! Stand up opportunities with the props can be arranged on a request basis.
The Historic Navy Pier is located on Lake Michigan and gets hundreds of visitors on a daily basis. Along with riding the Ferris wheel, taking a boat ride, sampling a variety of food from the food court, and numerous other activities offered at Nay Pier, tourists and locals now have the opportunity to view one-of-a-kind props that were used on an actual Hollywood set. The “Hank Dive Tank” and “Hank Dive Helmet” will be on display at the IMAX ticket booth from February 6th- 8th. The Navy Pier IMAX is located at 700 East Grand Avenue, Chicago, IL.
JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND is a new 3D family adventure and is the follow up to the 2008 worldwide hit “JOURNEY TO THE CENTER OF THE EARTH”.
The journey begins when young Sean Anderson (Josh Hutcherson, reprising his role from the first film) receives a coded distress signal from a mysterious island where no island should exist. It’s a place of strange life forms, mountains of gold, deadly volcanoes, and more than one astonishing secret. Unable to stop him from going, Sean’s new stepfather, Hank (Dwayne Johnson), joins the quest. Together with a helicopter pilot (Luis Guzmán) and his beautiful, strong-willed daughter (Vanessa Hudgens), they set out to find the island, rescue its lone inhabitant and escape before seismic shockwaves force the island under the sea and bury its treasures forever. “JOURNEY 2: THE MYSTERIOUS ISLAND” is a New Line Cinema presentation of a Contrafilm production and will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures, a Warner Bros. Entertainment Company.
