Brilliant, inspirational, Energetic are few of the words that can be used to describe the up and coming Reggaeton artist, Wesly Joel Morales better known as Wesly Tones. Wesly is not a stranger to the entertainment world as this trait is part of his heritage – it runs through his veins; thanks to his father, who was part of the band Costa Brava of Puerto Rico as a pianist and his uncles who played percussion instruments. As a child, his mother used to take him to his Dad’s rehearsals where he was exposed to what music is and what means to be a professional musician.
Wesly was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico in June16 1985. He has an older brother and a younger sister. He studied at John Dewey College where he acquired his diploma as a barber. He had his first encounters with the Reggaeton music in Juana Diaz, Pastillo; his native county.
At age 12, Wesly gained a great interest towards the Reggaeton genre and started singing with his friends in different school activities giving birth to what would be a career within this arena and the drive to create Latin Urban Music.
At age 26 he was performing at local activities and town festivals and fairs where he showcased his artistic talent as a splendid writer and singer. His passion allowed him to cross paths with his friend DJ Semih whom has worked with groups like Ñejo y Dálmata. Along side DJ Semih, Wesly started recordings his songs, performing in nightclubs in different areas of south Puerto Rico.
During the past decade, Wesly formed a group called ‘Los Irresponsables, Inc’ and gained experience recording music in Vazz Studio. It’s been a year since Wesly became a resident of Pennsylvania where he has had the opportunity to further develop as an artist and focus on finishing his upcoming album ‘Yo Tengo la Química’ (I got chemistry).
His father was a great influence during his childhood because he instilled in him the practice of music. Within the Reggaeton genre, Wesly admires artists that are popular for both their phenomenal performance and exceptional songwriting such as Wisin y Yandel, Don Omar y Don Chezina. All of these idols have influenced and shaped his music one way or another.
It is important for Wesly to deliver his music to the masses, perform at important events at an international level where he would be able to spread the message of his songs and fill the life of his audience with happiness; he intends on leaving his print in the reggaeton arena! Although the genre has undergone many changes Wesly intends to keep the essence of Reggaeton Music in his sound adding his personal touch and versatility without deviating from the roots of this genre.
The interpreter of the single ‘Bandida’ has come to this genre to set new trends!
Wesly anticipates the audience acceptance and looks forward to providing his fans with lots of gratification and fun through his music and his performances. |
